Geordan Gesink · Software Engineer

Software that solves
real problems.

I build peer-to-peer infrastructure at Tether and ship products of my own — from an alarm app that refuses to be snoozed to consulting work that starts with the economics, not the tech stack.

01 — Selected work

Five projects,
end to end.

01 Consulting studio

RealPainPoints

A software consulting studio built on one idea: quantify what a bottleneck actually costs before writing any code. Automation, AI integration, and custom software — fixed-price proposals, full source handover, no vendor lock-in.

02 Mobile app · iOS & Android

Ember

The alarm that doesn't give up. It keeps ringing until you prove you're awake — scan a barcode across the room, solve math, finish a puzzle, or walk it off. Streaks, scoring, and collectible embers make it stick; the core works offline, no account needed.

FlockManager

A Node.js module for decentralized collaboration. Create and manage flocks — groups of peers connected over a swarm topic and kept in sync with Autobase — with invite-key pairing, persistent storage, and automatic replication.

Peer Planner

A peer-to-peer calendar. Shared scheduling that syncs directly between devices — no central server, no third party holding your data. Built on the same P2P stack I work with every day.

05 Desktop app · macOS, Windows & Linux

Belegbar

Belege rein. Steuern klar. A local-first desktop app that gives German freelancers a live view of their tax position: drop income and expense PDFs in, get profit, VAT liability, and income-tax reserves out — every figure traceable back to its source document. OCR for scanned receipts, deterministic per-year tax engines, and optional on-device AI verification. Fully offline; your documents never leave your machine.

02 — About

Engineer first,
pragmatist always.

Portrait of Geordan Gesink

I'm a software engineer at Tether, where I work on peer-to-peer infrastructure — the kind of software that keeps working when there's no server in the middle. Alongside that, I've shipped consumer products, run a consulting practice, and published open-source tooling.

What ties it together: I like problems where the stakes are real. Whether it's an alarm that has to out-stubborn a half-asleep human or a sync protocol that has to survive flaky networks, I care about scalability, performance, and design that feels considered.

Based in Heidelberg, Germany. Working with teams anywhere.
